I’m an UWA (ultra wide angle) junkie haha. And I’m happy to have invested on a system that allows me to get my widest angle at 14mm full-frame equivalent, yet so compact and portable. It’s the Panasonic 7-14mm 4 (14-28mm full frame equivalent). Ah yes, I’ll bore you again(?) with my enthusiasm on the Micro 4/3 system… LOL. Forgive me, but I’ll do better (or worse) next time hihi! I love the ultra wide angle perspective. I love to exaggerate it. I admit I sometimes overdo it, but with caution and using it judiciously can create some interesting photos. And the Panasonic 7-14mm 4 helped me realize that UWA craziness minus the bulk and weight. The equivalent full-frame lens will be a Nikkor AFS 14-24mm 2.8, oh man, this is a huge performer, both in physical size and optical quality. I used to have one, but the sheer size had led me to consider the Nikkor AFS 17-35mm 2.8, which I love. For travel photography, if you like the ultimate in UWA minus the weight, the Panasonic 7-14mm 4 is a strong contender, and thanks to Micro 4/3 system, yeah!
Photographer’s note: F/4, 1/50, ISO 800, Panasonic G3, Panasonic 7-14mm 4
