Using a telephoto for portrait is not a common practice… The telephoto loses the connection and rapport between the photographer and the subject. But, but… sometimes breaking the rules is effective. A telephoto can compress the subject that can also be flattering. Here I used a 200mm F2 + 1.7 teleconverter, for an effective focal length of 340mm. And at 340mm, your subject won’t notice it, especially when you are doing a candid. (Next time if I have a 500mm, I will try it LOL!) Cheers!
