Street Photography with Micro Four Thirds

I just love shooting the street. The spontaneity of it is what all matters. The Micro 4/3 camera helps me realize this. I found using a smaller camera has its distinct advantages compared to using the fast frames-per-second DSLR cameras.

1. It’s not intimidating to the subjects. People don’t seem to mind you aiming the camera at them. Using a DSLR, I will probably received mixed reactions.

2. It’s portable and lightweight. It gives me more mobility and freedom of movement.

3. It’s safer, equipment-wise. It doesn’t grab much attention to onlookers and bystanders.

  • Peter Thomson - I love shooting micro four thirds street photography. The smaller camera allows you to get closer and to concentrate on the subject instead of on your camera. The GF1 is still a classic for this but I love some of the new Olympus micro four thirds cameras.

The lenses are also lighter and smaller than an SLR.ReplyCancel

  • xdayv - Peter, indeed the Micro 4/3s system is quite liberating to shoot. Thanks for dropping by!ReplyCancel
