Sangyaw Parade of Lights Festival 2013 – the parade was moved from June 29 to the feast day on June 30 due to the typhoon. It was supposed to be for the first time the Pintados-Kasadyaan and Sangyaw festivals to be held on the same day on June 29.
Nevertheless (sour graping maybe), it was probably better because the weather on June 30 was fine with no rain – good for everybody – the participants, the crowd at large, and of course to the photographers who have to take care of their equipment from getting wet. Oh and at the same time I was able to rest my body haha, it would have been doubly tiring if the two festivals were held on the same day. But if ever these two festivals would be held on the same day in the future, I am ready!
I shot this year’s Sangyaw festival for around 6 hours in my watch, it was a nice experience nevertheless. And still so stubborn to shoot the festival that would have been otherwise be ideal on full color, but I decided go with simple black and white photography. Did I have regrets? Absolutely none. I had a blast! Here are the initial batch of photos, I’ll share more in the days to come. Cheers!
