The 3rd Philippine International Pyromusical Competition, Manila, Philippines, March 10, 2012 – Australia vs. Canada.
Oh, I wasn’t prepared for this one, totally caught off-guard. Not until the last minutes I knew there was something like this. Anyway, I was glad I brought along my camera. Out of the 365 days (366 for this year haha!) in a year I faithfully (and foolishly LOL!) bring my camera everyday, there are more instances I don’t get to shoot with the camera simply because there’s nothing much to shoot. But it pays to bring it everyday, because in the very few instances you need it, it’s there. I was not really in a shooting mood, I put a very low expectation on bringing home a good shot. It was too crowded in SM Mall of Asia that night, you can barely get a good angle. Any movement in my framing means I will be including heads of people watching the fireworks display. This was the best angle I could get. If I were really to shoot it, I would have opted to shoot it from another vantage point, probably in the Baywalk area of Roxas Boulevard or in one of the rooftops of the hotels nearby. But I had other priorities in hand that night, so I had just to make the most of what I got. And I had to leave behind the black skies after the first display as there were other things yet to be done in my to-do notes. Oh, by the way, it was awesome!, the pyromusical brought a lot of applause from the crowd. With a camera on my hands, it was a treat to simultaneously watch and feel the fireworks display and at the same time clickin’!
