Grand Santa Cruzan 2014 in Tacloban City. Life after Typhoon Yolanda has not been easy… but life has to move on. And the resiliency of the people is what defines its character. The practice of age-old traditions like the Grand Santa Cruzan marks a sense of confidence that life is getting back to normal, albeit slowly, but surely… This year’s celebration was not as grand as last year, as expected. Fewer barangays have participated, and the financial constraints is evident in this year’s celebration. But it is not what counts most, the spirit of the celebration is powerful than ever… a strong signal that the people of Tacloban are ready to face the challenges ahead. Life goes on.
